Manual on Basic Financial Management for Indigenous Peoples' Organizations in Asia
This manual on basic financial management is the fifth of a series of training resource materials developed by the Indigenous Learning Institute for Community Empowerment (ILI) under the Regional Capacity Building Programme of the Asia Indigenous Peoples Pact (AIPP). The Manual was drafted in response to the need of AIPP members and partners to build their skills in financial management and administration. The overall intent of this manual is to help IPOs, especially the AIPP members and their partner communities and networks, set up their own financial management system that ensures efficiency, accountability and transparency in finance work; promotion on collective work, and strengthening of organizational capacity. In particular, the manual aims are: • To provide practical skills on the various aspects of financial management; • To assist people's organizations in setting up their financial policies and internal management system; and • To contribute to strengthening the practice of accountability and transparency in fund management. This publication has been published with the support from IWGIA and others.
